Finals 2024

What an exciting Finals Day at Renfrew for both the Championship and the Stewart Trophy held in glorious Renfrewshire sunshine.

Gillian and Lesley played some great golf with plenty of birdies to entertain the gallery. Renfrew was playing very long but they made it look so easy and enthralled the gallery with their amazing shots and putts. Gillian eventually got ahead and managed to win 3/1. This is only the 2nd time Gillian has won the Championship but has been runner up many times so this was a very special win for her, she will now go on to represent the West Division at Blairgowrie later in the year. This match was refereed by Vice Captain Gillian McGinlay.

Marianne & Sandra had a great tussle with Sandra fighting back from 4 down to all square playing 18 where Marianne won 1 up. This match was refereed by Marion Stewart.

Many thanks to all ladies who played in the qualifying at Hayston and the match play at Renfrew. Next year the qualifying round will be at Cardross golf club with the match play at Renfrew again.

Greensomes 2024
Williamwood GC Thursday 11th July 2024

Our Greensomes competition was played at Williamwood Golf Club today. The weather was dry and overcast for the early starters and the sun made a brief appearance later in the day. The course was in excellent condition and our members enjoyed lovely food before and after play. Thank you to Williamwood for hosting our event.

We experienced some technical difficulties with scoring and I am pleased to advise that due to assistance from Mary Scott everything was resolved and all scores input to the computer. Due to this hitch some handicaps were adjusted due to the change of course on the system. Thank you to Mary for her invaluable help in resolving this issue.

Forty seven couples participated and the prize winners are as follows:

1st Lynn Hain and Catherine Skinner (Douglas Park) 70
2nd Fiona Armour and Brenda Mulholland (Whitecraigs) 71
3rd Anne Brown and Margaret Dalziel (Loudon Gowf) 72 BIH

Seven couples recorded magic 2s and will receive their ball markers at our next event at Hilton Park in September or at the AGM in November.
